My grandmother came up last weekend to spend some time with me. It was neat to have her around and get to talk to her and just enjoy her company. We both had lots of fun. We went craft shopping with Ashley, looked at the Bremerton Naval base from across the water and watched movies. I found out that we both think so much the same it’s almost scary.
Also, my/Ashley’s family’s guinea pig seems to be going down hill. He’s either got a fungal infection or mites and they are causing him to go into fits that look suspiciously like seizures. So instead of letting him suffer we’re going to put him down later this week. Poor T-dore (or T-pig as my brother and grandma call him). He shall be missed.
I shall be playing a lot of Metroid Prime 2 while my computer’s down and my girlfriend’s sick. Last night I played it for about 3 hours. I just beat the Torvus Bog and am on my way to the Sanctuary. Sanctuary is as far as I got when I rented this game last time. Now I own it and can beat it all the way. I’m not looking forward to Sanctuary, though. I remember some of the machines I had to fight and they were tough. Oh well. I’m always saying that “hard is good.” I guess the same is for video games. Besides, if it weren’t challenging, it wouldn’t be fun. Read the rest of this post »
My friend and I were watching Strong Bad E-mails last night. In the middle of one, he started making funny noises. Within minutes, he was dead. Or at least, not working. My friend that I am referring to is my hard drive in my home computer. It crashed last night. I’m hoping that it’ll start up for a few minutes tonight so I can backup some of the more imnportant things on it. If not, oh well. Nothing I can do about it now.
Oh and pray for Ashley. Her family, being the nice people they are, shared the flu bug they had last week with her. Now she is tossing her cookies and feeling like crap. I wish I could be there to comfort her. But alas, I’m stuck at work, and she probably won’t let me come over so I don’t catch it. Ugh.
Splorf is the sound of puking. That’s right. Her brother and sister have started throwing up and Ashley’s stuck taking care of them. Worst part is, I can’t go over to help withtout a chance of getting whatever they have. All I can do is support her over AIM and the phone and pray for them.
On a side note, I’m still the loudest splorfer in Farrar. There’s a title I know mom’s proud of me having. Read the rest of this post »
I’m eating popcorn and a chunk of cheddar cheese. I buy those baby loaves of Tillamook medium cheddar and cut off an inch thick chunk and eat it plain like that. Mmm mmm good.
So anyways, in the last few days, I’ve heard my girlfriend say “in all of everdom” at least twice. This is cool. I’m starting to affect her speech. It makes me almost as giddy as when she quoted Star Wars the first time, having never seen any of the movies at the time. Then she described herself, today, the same way I describe myself. A Christian, a conservative, a nerd. We fit together so well, don’t we? Read the rest of this post »
Fried Chicken. That’s my lunch today. It’s good stuff.
So, I was wrong about Ashley’s mom. So were the doctors. They have no idea what’s going on with her and they aren’t sending her home today. They aren’t sure when she’s going home. They can’t keep her temperature down and they employ stupid nurses at the hospital that don’t administer her meds on time. Or tell her that to eat, she has to order her meals over the phone. It sounds like their blood drawing people suck at drawing blood and have bruised her arms all up and down them. Prayers for her are greatly coveted. Read the rest of this post »
So this shall be my lunch break blog! I will try to post, as daily as possible, on my lunch break at work.
Yesterday was rather interesting. It started off normally, going to church and all, then we were heading out to my grandma’s place to do some yard work, then out to dinner to celebrate our 4-month anniversary, then home. Read the rest of this post »
