Now when Congressman (Paul) Ryan looked into that TV camera and attacked President Obama’s Medicare savings as, quote, ‘The biggest, coldest power play,’ I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Because that $716 billion is exactly — to the dollar — that (Paul Ryan) had in his own budget! (Beat.) You know, you give him one thing: it takes some brass to attack a guy for doing what you did.

We believe ‘we’re all in this together’ is a far better philosophy than ‘you’re on your own.’

No, Governor Romney, corporations are not people. People have hearts, they have kids, they get jobs, they get sick, they cry, they dance. They live, they love, and they die. And that matters. That matters because we don’t run this country for corporations, we run it for people. And that’s why we need Barack Obama.

We share responsibility for creating an economy where parents with jobs earn enough to care for their families.

Getting money out of politics isn’t an issue. It’s the ONLY issue.

If farmers and blacksmiths could win independence from an empire, if immigrants could leave behind everything they knew for a better life on our shores, if women could be dragged to jail for seeking the vote, if a generation could defeat a depression, and define greatness for all time, if a young preacher could lift us to the mountaintop with his righteous dream, and if proud Americans can be who they are and boldly stand at the altar with who they love… then surely… surely we can give everyone in this country a fair chance at that great American Dream.

Barack knows the American Dream because he’s lived it…and he wants everyone in this country to have that same opportunity, no matter who we are, or where we’re from, or what we look like, or who we love.

And he believes that when you’ve worked hard, and done well, and walked through that doorway of opportunity, you do not slam it shut behind you…you reach back, and you give other folks the same chances that helped you succeed

Nobody in this country should ever go broke due to an accident or illness.
