I like House. I think it’s one of the best shows on TV right now. It’s funny yet poignant, witty yet makes you think and the characters are great.
I didn’t start watching House until just after Ashley and I started dating, mainly because I hadn’t heard of it. I watched a few episodes and was hooked.
One of my favorite things is that everyone thinks House is a jerk to be a jerk, but everything he does helps his patients, whether they realize it or not. Even when he’s bawling them out he’s doing it to help them. He a genius who is routinely handed idiot patients. And people wonder why he’s so cynical.
The first season is a great start to the show. There’s no underlying story arc until the second half of the season when they bring in Vogler. Vogler is the embodiment of what’s wrong with the medical industry. He comes in and tries to run the hospital like a business: money first, patient care second. House obviously doesn’t like this and pushes Vogler’s buttons in any way he can.
It’s an excellent show and a this season is the perfect start to it. Hunt this one down and watch it. You won’t be disappointed.
