Final Fantasy VII was the first 3D Final Fantasy game; this one is the first on the Playstation 2. It’s graphics are amazing – the cutscenes in almost look as good as the rendered movies!
The gameplay is pretty sweet as well. There’s some new features like the ability to switch characters out in the middle of a battle without losing your turn. That brings up one of the differences between this and the last 3 Final Fantasy games – This one lacks the ATB counter. Now this doesn’t take away from the gameplay at all – especially if you like the switching.
The storyline on this is pretty good. I think it’s laughable that it in some ways mirrors a Christian’s life, but it’s written by new agers. Anyways, it’s still a fun game. I would recommend this to anyone who likes RPGs.
