My girlfriend should be here in a few moments to pick me up from work, then we’re on the road to vacation! Booyah!
So I tried the Emperor Ing again last night and kicked his corrupted, mutated, dark, royal bootay with over half my life left. About freakin’ time. Then I grabbed the energy to return to Aether’s Temple and finish the game. This started an eight minute countdown to get to the “light world.” Unfortunately, as I knew was going to happen, Dark Samus blocked my exit.
I have a lot of problems with the way this fight was done. First, it’s a final boss fight; it should not be timed. Second, I hate it when the only way to hurt an enemy is to wait for a certain attack of theirs so I can redirect it back at them. Thirdly, I hate it when both of those are part of the same fight, like this one. That’s right. You have to kill Dark Samus (not once, but twice if I understand the FAQs correctly) in less than eight minutes. And of course, the attack you have to wait for is not the primary attack of Dark Samus. No. It’s only used one out of every three or four attacks.
Now, I was stupid and didn’t read the logbook entry, again, so I didn’t know I had to use the Phazon particles she throws at me to hurt her until I had less than 2 minutes left. Needless to say, I now have to defeat Emperor ugly-butt again before I can get a rematch with Miss “kill me twice in eight minutes.” I am definitely rethinking my whole “master the game” idea, requiring me to beat the game again on Hard mode with 100% scans and items. Maybe I’ll just skip it and move on to Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.
Speaking of which, I have that and MegaMan Battle Network: Battle Chip Challenge with me on this vacation. Hopefully, I’ll get a little bit of play time in on those. If not, I’ve got a plastic lightsaber duel scheduled with Ashley, NCIS to watch, a book to read, water to cool off in, Sudoku to do. Lots of stuff to do.
